The London Study Abroad Program

The London Study Abroad Program is a wonderful opportunity for students to earn six credits while spending a month of their summer in London, England. The program is centered around theatre with a concentration in Shakespeare. Classes take place on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, leaving the weekends open for students to explore London or travel outside of the city. Classes take place in the living room of one of the student flats.

The cost is $3,850; that price includes airfare, travel to and from Heathrow airport in London, tickets to (at least) 8 plays, a trip to Stratford upon-Avon (Shakespeare’s home), and accommodation in London’s West End. Tuition for six credits is not included. For more information about the cost of credits, contact California University of Pennsylvania's Bursar's office : (724) 938-4415.

Additional Details

Student flats, located in London's beautiful west end, are close to a ton of sightseeing and adventuring opportunities. If a specific destination is not in walking distance, the Baker Street tube station is also nearby and allows for easy and affordable travel around the city. Of the 8 or more plays that students will see, at least one will be at Shakespeare's Globe Theatre. In the past, students have spent weekends traveling to Paris, Ireland, and elsewhere in Europe. Group trips to places such as Greenwich, Stonehenge, and the Roman Baths have also been a huge hit.
